Peoria Civic Center, with its centerpiece the Carver Arena, is the city’s top-notch sporting venue that is home to Peoria’s best sports teams,  the Peoria Rivermen Hockey Team, Bradley Braves Basketball Team in Carver Arena, and the Civic Center is also host to March Madness, the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Boys’ Basketball tournament that’s organized here for the 23rd time.

The Carver Arena is Peoria’s top sporting venue that boasts over 11,000 seats for hockey and basketball meetings. The Carver Arena is the place the Bradley University Braves (the school’s men’s basketball team) call home and it is also the place where the Peoria Rivermen Ice Hockey Team (playing in the Southern Professional Hockey League) play their matches. The Carver Arena recently underwent a $50 million renovation and extension to accommodate more sports fans when they support and cheer on their favorite teams.

Every year in March, the Peoria Civic Center is host to the IHSA (Illinois High School Association) boys’ basketball finals, an event that lasts two weeks. During this basketball tournament, high school teams from across Illinois compete for the state’s coveted championship finals. The Peoria Civic Center’s Exhibit Hall is also serving as a sporting venue when historical exhibits and interactive games are displayed to IHSA fans at the Interactive March Madness Experience. The Peoria Civic Center includes a fantastic 11,330 seat sports arena, a theater with more than two thousand seats, over 44,000 square feet of meeting facilities, and more than 100,000 square feet of top-notch exhibit space. The venue is located right in the heat of the city’s downtown area and it will take you only some 10 minutes to get there from Peoria International Airport. There are more than 1,000 hotel rooms within walking distance from the Civic Center and the city boasts in total more than 5,000 hotel rooms.

The Peoria Civic Center and the Carver Arena are Peoria’s best and most popular sporting venue.
